What community engagement means to us:
Community engagement can mean different things to different people. At Savera UK, it’s a two-way dialogue; sharing experiences, learning from one another and providing a safe space to discuss issues that affect individuals, families and wider communities. It’s also about:
- Raising awareness of ‘honour’-based abuse (HBA) & harmful practices: Inform communities about the indicators, risks and impacts, and challenge prevailing attitudes and stereotypes
- Safeguarding those at risk: Everyone has a responsibility to keep others safe. Savera UK equips community members to recognise HBA warning signs, offer appropriate support and signpost individuals to our specialist services
- Championing community action: Bring together community voices to deliver local initiatives that drive behaviour change and work to end HBA & harmful practices
We’d love to hear your ideas for getting involved. Whether that’s a new event, workshop or project. You can email us at [email protected]
