Volunteering Opportunities

We’re looking for volunteers based in Merseyside and Cheshire. Whether you have a little time or a lot, and whatever your background or experience, we’d love to hear from you.

There are many ways to volunteer with Savera UK and help us end ‘honour’-based abuse and harmful practices, and we especially welcome applications from individuals from diverse and marginalised communities.

Ways you can get involved as a volunteer

  • Fundraising
  • Communications and research
  • Translation (particularly Arabic, Urdu and Kurdish)
  • Event support
  • Offer your specialist skills for client sessions (e.g. creative activities, personal development, wellbeing, etc.)
  • And more

Join our Youth Collective

The Youth Collective are a group of 14 – 25 year olds coming together to be the voice of our generation. They campaign to end ‘honour’-based abuse (HBA) and harmful practices, while developing and gaining invaluable personal and professional skills.

Become  a Community Advocate

Community advocates are individuals who volunteer to learn about ‘honour’-based abuse (HBA) and harmful practices, how to see when someone is at risk and how to guide them to help. They also advocate for human rights by sharing information and encouraging open conversation and learning in communities.

How do I become a volunteer?

Please complete our Volunteer Application Form, which highlights the ways you can support us as a volunteer.

Once we have received your online application, we will be in touch to arrange an informal chat. This allows us to get to know each other and helps us ensure that we find the right fit for our future volunteers!

If you have any questions or would like to share ideas on other ways to help, please email [email protected]

Are you based outside of the UK?

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visas for non-UK based volunteers. Due to the volume of requests we receive of this nature, we are unable to respond individually to any request for a visa for non-UK based volunteers.

*Please note that certain applicants may be required to submit to a Disclosure and Barring Service check if the volunteer position they have applied for involves working directly with our clients.
