Savera UK’s volunteering programme is open to all UK-based volunteers, no matter how much time you have to give and whatever your experience may be.
We particularly encourage volunteer applications from individuals of diverse and marginalised communities.
There are lots of ways you can volunteer with Savera UK to help us in our mission to end ‘honour’-based abuse and harmful practices. Skills we look for in our volunteers include, but are not limited to:
- Communications skills
- Translation skills (Particularly Arabic, Urdu and Kurdish)
- Event support skills
You can also offer your specialist skills for sessions with Savera UK clients, such as:
- Exercise
- Creative/craft
- Yoga/meditation
- Coaching/personal development
If you are interested in volunteering with Savera UK, please complete our Volunteer Application Form, which highlights other ways you can support us as a volunteer.
Once we have received your online application, we will be in touch to arrange an informal chat. This allows us to get to know each other and helps ensure that we find the right fit for our future volunteers!
Young people aged 11-25 also have the opportunity to become involved in our Savera UK Youth programme throughout the year.
If you have any questions or you would like to share some ideas of how you could help, please email [email protected]
Unfortunately we are unable to offer visas for non-UK based volunteers. Due to the volume of requests we receive of this nature we are unable to respond individually to any request for a visa for non-UK based volunteers.
*Please note that certain applicants may be required to submit to a Disclosure and Barring Service check if the volunteer position they have applied for involves working directly with our clients.
