Post: Independent ‘Honour’-Based Abuse (HBA)& Harmful Practices Advocate (IHBAHPA) (Women Only)
Band: Band 3- Programme delivery, specialist advice
Salary: Start at £28,500 -FTE (pro rata)
Location: Liverpool Office (travel as required)
Contract: Part-time (3 days per week, Monday-Wednesday, 9am–5pm)

The Role
Working collaboratively as part of a team to work with individuals and families referred to Savera UK who are experiencing and at risk of ‘honour’-based abuse (HBA) and/or harmful practices. Delivering safeguarding, advocacy, and emotional support interventions tailored to clients’ needs. Planning and facilitating empowerment, wellbeing, and welfare programmes and activities that promote resilience, independence, and positive outcomes as part of clients’ ongoing support and recovery.
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- A relevant qualification or training in this area of work, such as HBA, IDVA, ISVA, or a background in the domestic abuse sector (no prior expertise in honour-based abuse is required; Savera UK provides full training and tools)
- Experience delivering one-to-one intervention, including face-to-face and telephone support, advocacy, safeguarding, and emotional support, ideally within the domestic abuse sector
- Experience conducting risk assessments and managing a caseload, with excellent record-keeping skills
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently, proactively, and calmly under pressure
- Confidence liaising with multi-agency professionals and representing clients at safeguarding meetings such as MARAC
- Competence in Microsoft Office and digital case-management systems
- Sound understanding of GDPR, confidentiality, and safeguarding principles
- A collaborative, solutions-focused approach and commitment to equality, human rights, and Savera UK’s mission
