What We Do

Savera UK is a leading charity working to end ‘honour’-based abuse (HBA) and other culturally specific abuse and harmful practices.

‘Savera’ means ‘new beginning’ in Hindi, which is symbolic of what we provide for survivors and those at risk of HBA and harmful practices, regardless of age, culture, sexuality, gender or ethnicity.

Our 1-1 Direct Intervention Team provides advice, safeguarding and advocacy services to survivors, those at risk and the professionals who work with them, as well as offering welfare and wellbeing interventions that help individuals in their ‘new beginning’.

We also work to raise awareness of HBA and harmful practices, educate people on the indicators, consequences and routes to help and campaign to change attitudes and influence policy that will end these practices for good.
