Savera UK Professional Engagement December Update 2017
By Shauna from Savera UK
In September, Savera UK were invited to Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (RASASC) in Warrington to inform them about the services that Savera UK offer. We also developed links with Liverpool Domestic Abuse Service (LDAS) and also had a presence at Liverpool Women’s Hospital about the work we do around BME domestic abuse and harmful practices. Savera UK took part in the health and well-being event at Liverpool Arabic Centre at Hart Hill Youth and Community Centre to promote the work of Savera UK.
Savera UK is pleased to inform you that our support information and contact details will be in a new app, which will be developed as part of the “Safety Through Empowerment Project”. The project is being coordinated by Wirral Met College who received funding to develop an app for their students to provide them with services and information they can access for help and support. This is another great way to reach our young people and client group.
Savera UK participated at the Black Fundraising event that took place in London. The aim of the event was to promote service information to other organisations, as well as network and learn about fundraising using media and technology. The event was an opportunity to promote the work, also meeting other organisations for further partnership work. Savera UK also presented to a range of professionals and senior consultant who have the lead responsibilities in safeguarding and child protection at Alder Hey Hospital.
Savera UK have been successful with the Liverpool Ways to ILM programme and delighted to recruit two individuals to join the team. We look forward to them starting in January 2018!
