National Memorial Day for those lost in the name of so called ‘Honour’

A conference to mark the National Memorial Day for those lost in the name of so called ‘Honour’, which pays tribute to the legacy of Shafilea Ahmed and other women, girls and men who have fallen victim to ‘honour’-based abuse.
A day of touching and inspiring stories told by survivors, as well as speeches from Savera UK patron Nazir Afzal OBE and Jane Kennedy, Merseyside Police and Crime Commissioner.
The day includes a special collaboration between Savera UK and Liverpool Arab Arts Festival, presenting Danish-Palestinian musician Simona Abdallah, who will perform and share her personal journey.
***All money from ticket sales will go to Savera UK in helping to alleviate social isolation for clients and supporting the service.***
